Toast is a go-to brunch spots in Birmingham and Ferndale – who knew they had a dinner menu?
I’ve been brunching at Toast, since they opened in Ferndale back in 2002. I lived right down the street on East Lewiston (seriously, 8 houses away), and probably ate there once a week for years. They originally launched with a mission to “evoke the comforts of home” through delicious breakfast and lunch food in a whimsical environment – like eating at your coolest aunts house. Since then, they opened the Birmingham location and launched a dinner menu in 2008, but I had no idea.
They just recently rolled out this summers’ seasonal dinner menu, which stays true to their mission of providing that comfort food with a twist. It includes a few favorites for regulars, along with seasonal appetizers and entrees, like fish tacos, bacon wrapped scallops and a personal favorite of mine, tempura cauliflower. Oh, and did I mention deviled eggs!? Nothing says summer to me more than deviled eggs.
