Thousands of Metro Detroit residents braved the rain to get a glimpse of the Michigan Central Station that was opened to the public for the first time in 30 years June 23-24 in Corktown. The formerly deserted building was recently bought by Ford, which plans to transform it into a campus, technology and innovation hub by 2022. The open house featured local artists and exhibits from the Detroit Historical Society. The grand architecture and history of the building brought back feelings of nostalgia for many residents and also symbolized the revitalization of city.

Additional Monday tours have been added due to the overwhelming response from the public.
