SEEN Fashion Director Rachel Schostak shares her favorite looks from the 2018 Met Gala “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.”
By Rachel Schostak
The Met Gala 2018 theme was “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.” Now, you may be confused about the connection of Catholicism to fashion. The truth is, so much of art, history and religion is tied avant-garde fashion on the runway. Designers often find inspiration in the catholic church — from the rich fabrications, cloaks, capes and wardrobe of the Pope, bishops and other clergy members. The Heavenly Bodies exhibit is open at the MET in New York City until Oct. 8. Below are some of my favorite looks from the red carpet opening night of exhibit.
