One in three women die of heart-related diseases each year, but the American Heart Association wants to the change these numbers. On Feb. 16, Cobo Center was draped in red to raise funds, educate and celebrate survivors at this year’s Detroit Go Red for Women Luncheon. The event featured free blood pressure tests, a silent auction and touching testimonials. Keynote speaker Nicole Curtis, HGTV and DIY Network’s “Rehab Addict” host, concluded the luncheon by talking about the importance of staying heart healthy while juggling a busy schedule. The event has raised over $800,000.
