Women SEEN: Making an Impact 2018

Published March 21, 2018 by

SEEN Magazine & the Michigan Women’s Foundation are hosting an event to empower and connect inspiring Metro Detroit women, who are making an impact and helping other women thrive along the way.

Women represent more than half of the U.S. population, yet men control the
majority of wages, business, money, and government.

Women SEEN: Making an Impact

It is an exciting time for women. We are banding together to speak our truth, march, launch businesses and non-profits, raise money, run for office, change policies and so much more.

We believe representation matters, so we are committed to telling the stories of the incredible and diverse women in Metro Detroit making an impact and changing the world. Through our magazine, videos, a new podcast and our inaugural Women’s event, we will highlight what women are doing to have their voices heard, connect with each other and be SEEN.

We have partnered with Attack Hunger, to collect personal care items for women and children in homeless shelters all over Detroit. Please gather what you can and bring them with you to the event. We are seeking the following type of items:

Tampons, maxi pads, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, baby wipes/wet wipes, tissue, lotion, & lipbalm

Women SEEN Attack Hunger

About Attack Hunger

Attack Hunger is helping at-risk and homeless women and children all over Detroit for the past six years.
Through coordinated efforts with artists, corporations, hospitals, and schools, Attack Hunger has been able to deliver literally tons of
food to shelters aimed at the care of at-risk women and children all over Detroit. They make hosting a food or personal care drive very simple and easy – they will create custom signage specific to your group, drop off empty boxes for you and then pick it all up when it is filled. Just provide a delivery location for the boxes/signs and the dates. Individual or group volunteer events and fundraisers can be scheduled or created by emailing michael@attackhunger.com.
